Choosing a point of sale for a gun store

What a firearms counter needs that a generic register does not: serials, non-taxable services, trade-ins, and one inventory with your website.

Published 2026-10-04

A generic point of sale treats a firearm like a bag of coffee. A gun store needs a register that knows the difference, and that shares its inventory with the website so the same gun is never sold twice.

The checklist

  • Serial numbers recorded per unit, retired when sold, never deleted.
  • Transfer, NICS, and gunsmithing fees rung as services that are not taxed where they should not be.
  • Trade-ins, layaways, and returns without a workaround.
  • A counter sale that updates the website before the customer leaves.
  • Compliance records your acquisition and disposition book can rely on.

ArmoryFlow POS is an optional add-on to the ArmoryFlow plan, on the same inventory as the website.
